New Zealand’s goth-pop queen So Below is back on top form with new single ‘Visions’. This project began as an exploration of eerie sounds and pop melodies, but has continued to evolve into its current dance-infused state. We first noticed the shift with ‘Ruin’, something which we asked Maddie North (aka So Below) about in a recent interview. She explained that one day “we sat down and thought 'let’s write a dance track'”, pointing to the awesome ‘80s synth soundtrack of Stranger Things as an influence. For any listener who loves the new alternative club vibes as much as So Below’s goth-pop origins, you’ll become infatuated with ‘Visions’, which rides that division superbly. Pulsing with dark beats, breathy vocals and Stranger Things-esque electronics, ‘Visions’ is a shadowy dance floor creeper.
